Problem description

Russian-speaking and Arabic-speaking citizens in mixed-race cities share a number of common challenges to a peaceful and comfortable existence. More often than not, the areas where these groups live are classified as poor and do not receive adequate attention and funding from city authorities.
Joining forces to find joint solutions and influence political decisions at the city level will help develop practical skills of solidarity in solving social and economic problems and increasing influence on political decision-making.

Projectgoal: to train activists among Haifa’s Arab-Russian-speaking population for a consolidated solution to the city’s problems in areas where Arabs and Russian-speaking citizens live together.

Objectives:

  • Develop a training package for activist training;
  • To train activists from the Arab and Russian-speaking population of Haifa by building their skills in activism in places of compact residence and their experience of Russian-Arab interaction in identifying and solving common problems;
  • Organization and support of practical activities of activists to identify problems of the city and consolidation of the Arab-Russian community to solve them. – Creating tools to multiply the learning experiences of Activists.
